Cameron Van Der Burgh, continued to dominate in the 50 metres breaststroke when he claimed a gold medal on the first day of the FINA World Cup in Beijing on Tuesday. The silver medal went to Tommy Sucipto of Australia in 27:79 and Shi Weijia of China clocked 28:00. In the200m breaststroke, Mao Feilian of China took the lead in 1:03:76, while SA’s Van Der Burg claimed a silver in 1:03:21.
The bronze was bagged by China’s Yan Zibei in 1:38:08. The Beijing leg of the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup concludes on Wednesday with Van Der Burgh in action in the 100m breaststroke.
